Let’s face it, it’s pretty much the law that you eat sausages on Bonfire Night, right?
This is a super-easy recipe which will delight your kids and even have them eating some vegetables! It’s not even really a recipe, more of a serving suggestion.
Cook up 2 packs of chipolata sausages, the skinny ones. You should have about 24. Grill, fry, whatever is easiest.
Also cook some mashed potato, cous cous, Chinese noodles or any carb of your choice, really. Mash would be easiest but I used noodles last year when I took these pictures and it was fine.
Chop up some red, yellow and orange peppers into flame shapes, like this. (Carrots might also work).
Then assemble. Using a flan type dish as above really helps. Make a cone out of the mashed potatoes (or other carb), lay the sausages around it in a bonfire shape and tuck in your pepper flames. It doesn’t need to be too neat. It’s a bonfire, after all. I am totally cack-handed and this did not present a challenge. Easy, huh?
Dinner, my friends, is sorted. You’re welcome. And Happy Bonfire Night!
